Many people say they want to be an entrepreneur, lead their own business and projects, and make real their ideas. Working for oneself is very tempting and attractive. However, are we really aware of what taking the entrepreneurship adventure entails? What identifies those personalities who have made their idea loudly successful?

If we have a look, we’ll realize how Steve Jobs started his days at 6:00 AM to spend a little self-care time, take his children to school and work an average of 1 to 2 hours before arriving at the office at 9:00 AM. His successor, Tim Cook, wakes up even sooner: at 04:30 AM he is already sending emails and at 05:00 he can be found in the gym. Marissa Mayer, former CEO of Yahoo!, slept four to six hours a day. And the acclaimed Anna Wintour, editor of the American version of fashion magazine Vogue, wakes up at 05:40 every day to play tennis and catch vitality to get through the day.

It seems that a common characteristic of successful people is precisely getting up early and working hard while others rest, self-imposed schedules, and non-negotiable self-care moments. But this is just the beginning. Many times we know the objective but not the steps to follow to achieve it. It is here where work dynamics plays a decisive role.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WORK DYNAMICS

Having excellent work dynamics basically means that you know how to work efficiently and effectively. That you have acquired enough experience and skills to develop an action plan by yourself. It also means foresight; research, organizational and persuasive skills, and knowing how to present a job showing its best potential. To that end, you must have gone through a deep self-knowledge process to know perfectly your strengths and weaknesses. But, let’s be honest, at the end of the day the important isn’t reach perfection but give the first step and START.

WHAT BE YOUR OWN BOSS MEANS

Are you that type who is the first to arrive at the office and the last to leave? Well, that could mean that you are ready for the game. Chasing your vision will demand from you constant effort, discipline, and resolution. Sometimes it will entail even double or triple work than usual; heavy burden of responsibility, making quality work done in a limited time, and archiving results. Being your own boss will mean to be strong enough to deal with all these aspects and enjoying the process at the same time burn-out free.

SO DOES MASTER THE BASICS

• PLANIFICACIÓN Y ORGANIZATION

The probability that your project succeeds will increase significantly if you start from a base of stratified arrange, task distribution and tracking. Rigorous organization from the most basic will translate into optimal results. Even though sometimes what is planned cannot be carried out, organization will push you to take other directions more easily without destabilizing the main idea.

• LESS QUANTITY, MORE QUALITY

Let’s avoid going crazy. Sometimes there is so much in our heads about what we want to do and we involuntary want doing everything at the same time. Sometimes less is more. Prioritize quality over quantity of what we do will bring us better results in the long-term. And the fruit we get will probably be more mature and reliable.

• PURPOSE AND MOTIVATION ALWAYS ON POINT

Have constantly your purpose clear is fundamental. It will turn tricky to be happy without meaning in your life. And the way you create meaning is doing what is most important for you (Emily Esfahani Smith, 2017. The Power of Meaning: Finding Fulfillment in a World Obsessed with Happiness). Purpose is about having something worthwhile to do that motivates you to make a unique contribution to the world. But don ́t forget that fulfillment comes also from hobbies, love, and all related to our personal life. We don ́t want to become workaholics, right? Let ́s master the art of being hungry and successful women but in balance.
