‘’I’m manifesting the life I dream of! The woman I am today isn’t who I was a year ago. I stopped making excuses and started making changes. In order to flourish, I must grow. I will continue to develop by focusing on attracting success and prosperity. I am grateful for every blessing the universe has instore for me. I aspire to be my own boss! I am thrilled to be a feature…stay tuned it’s more of me to come.’’
Can you tell us a little bit what you had to go through and what inspired you to write the book?
I buried myself in a relationship that was only about making my significant other happy. I became indecisive, insecure, and numb to a lot of things that I wanted and/or needed. I awkwardly accepted physical, mental, and verbal abuse because I thought it was a form of love. It wasn’t until after I separated myself I began to find myself again through healing. I never grasped the simplest things I was missing like joy, peace, hope, faith, love…I under no circumstances understood that those things could be stolen until somebody almost got away with all my stuff.
Can you tell us in your own words what is “Don’t Wife Him”?
To give you a better understanding of what I mean by Don’t Wife Him, I can tell you that no boyfriend deserves the treatment of a husband until it is earned. If he wants you to resemble the role of a wife then he should put a ring on it. Why give him all the benefits of a marriage without collecting any of the complementary obligations and commitments?
What lesson would you like to share with readers from your book?
The lesson from my book is to always fall in love with you first and then share that with someone who appreciates you. Show people how to treat you by them realizing you know who you are, what you value, and your beliefs. If you believed in Santa Claus for years you can give yourself the same energy by reclaiming your time! Put yourself at the top of you to-do list! Forgive yourself as many times as it takes for you to find peace again.
Who should read your book?
My book is available to all of those that want to practice self-love. To people who are in abusive relationships and needs some motivation to leave; to those who needs to hear that it’s okay to let your heart break and recover. This book is for those that want to repair the damage they’re going through or have experienced so that they won’t continue to repeat it. Everyone should read this book; the curious, the damaged, the abused, the ones trying and wanting better.
You are currently working on launching a subscription box businesses, what can you tell us about this?
I am currently creating a subscription box business geared towards Curvy women. Us as women are formed in so many different shapes and sizes so I’d like to produce a box that encourages women to not only love who they are and slay it but to also uplift them in the process of being confident in who they are. Size doesn’t define or wear you, you wear it…and it’s all about how you wear it. Curvy is an attitude!
What things have you learned meanwhile working on this business?
The most important lesson I’m learning is that I have to stop treating my creativity as if it’s a 9 to 5 job. I’m inspired in so many ways and through so many aspects. I’m not putting limits on myself and what I can bring to my formation. I’m definitely having some great experiences! Hahaha Growth is not found in comfort.
How do you improve your financial knowledge?
First and foremost I had to set a financial goal. Everyone knows a goal without a timeline is just a dream. So I had to gain knowledge about investment opportunities, market trends and how the economy works because it’s extremely important for building and increasing my wealth. I read as much as I can, attend financial literacy classes online, often stalk personal finance websites ha ha ha, and I sometimes ask my social media friends who are well educated in that area of expertise for advice. Stay informing yourself!
