Are You a Renaissance Woman?

I know that they tell you that you have to pick one passion and focus on it. I know that, sometimes, they think that you are too much. But, how about if you have more than one talent? How about if you’re strong enough to carry, perhaps, two passions and a few hobbies? How about if you were gifted with many things, then what? Read on Are You a Renaissance Woman?

I say that you follow and fulfill every single passion that you have.

You shouldn’t have to be placed inside of a box. Don’t allow others to label you and tell you who you are supposed to be and what you are supposed to do. Don’t allow others to tell you that something is impossible. Yes, it is important to be realistic about your capabilities. It is important to understand reality. But, it is also important to try to fulfill your dreams. Some of us have more than one dream. And, that is okay.

It is important to give your all in anything that you do. Just because someone else couldn’t do something, it doesn’t mean that you can’t do it. Just because someone else couldn’t handle carrying out their many talents, it doesn’t mean that you can’t handle it.

Self-awareness is extremely important

The definition of self-awareness is the conscious knowledge of what you are composed of: your feelings, emotions, wants, knowledge and abilities. Introspection is important. It is important to stop and reflect on who you are.

Do you ever take the time that is needed to reflect? You grow daily. Think about it. Can you know yourself and what you are capable of if you don’t stop and take the time that is needed to reflect on your day? Learn to stop and think about what you love to do, even if they are found in different areas. If you find that you have multiple passions and are interested in many things, then it may be a sign that you are a Renaissance Woman. We exist. Don’t let them tell you that we don’t.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a Renaissance Woman is “a woman who is interested in and knows a lot about many things.” You could have been gifted with many talents. Make sure that you use them.

Here are five things that indicate that you are a Renaissance Woman:

1. You have more than one talent and are passionate about all of them.

You are a writer. You are a poet. You are an attorney. You are a human rights activist. You are a songwriter. You are a dancer. You are a lover. They can’t label you because you are many things. You have used a lot of your time and dedicated it towards your passions. You wanted to soak in everything that this world had to offer. Therefore, instead of wasting time on the things that were not important to you, you focused on your talents. This makes you a Renaissance Woman.

2. You are diverse and well-rounded.

Perhaps in school or perhaps in everyday life, you were always interested in different subjects and in different fields. You are good at playing the piano. You are good at writing. You are good at studying the human mind. You were interested in it all. If you have a lot of variety as to who you are because of what your interests are, then you are most likely a Renaissance Woman.

3. You are adaptive to different areas, even though they are on opposite spectrums.

You will adapt to any environment that you are placed in because there is something to learn from each place. There is beauty in everything. There is knowledge in everything. You are never bored because you will find something to entertain you even if another person will be extremely confused at how you find two polar opposite things interesting. If you are placed in a room full of scientists, you will learn something and find it interesting. If you are placed in a room full of artists, you will immerse yourself in the art. You learn to appreciate everything about life.

4. You love everything that you do, equally.

You put your whole heart, mind, and soul in everything that you do because you know that it is the only way that the outcome will be at its greatest potential. You are interested in everything even if those around you aren’t. You know that you can learn from everything. So, you do it all with love.

5. Your interest in knowledge never ends.

Your mind is similar to the ocean. It is a mystery. Both are something that we have not figured out. You constantly find yourself trying to fill your mind with more information, more emotions, and more art. You try to expand your knowledge in different areas. You try to experience different things. If you constantly want to learn more about everything and anything, then you are a Renaissance Woman.
