1. She knows exactly what to say

Were you ever in a situation where you came to a boss woman and she knew just the right thing to say? Chances are she probably has a high EI. She was able to discern the roiling emotions you were experiencing and put herself in that situation to better understand it.  

2. She keeps her cool in tough situations

She is always able to assimilate information in a calm and collected matter. She knows that angry outbursts will not help the situation. Instead, she takes a deep breath and strategizes. 

3. She is a great listener

It’s no fun trying to explain something to someone who butts in before you can even finish. The women with a high EI is silent throughout the duration of your speech and occasionally nods to let you know she is listening. Once you have finished, she offers her assessment and advice. 

4. She is an excellent problem solver

This woman has more than one creative solution up her silk sleeves.

5. She takes criticism well

This boss lady isn’t afraid of criticism in her business, in fact, she welcomes it. It helps her see her business from a different angle. Perhaps there was a site navigation problem being critiqued; well now she knows to fix it and does it with a smile on her face. 

6. She exudes confidence 

You can hear her heels clacking from a mile away as she strides into the building with an air of confidence and alluring charm. Having high EI ensures that the individual has a positive outlook on life and a positive attitude towards themselves that isn’t arrogant.

7. She has a strong sense of what others are feeling 

Due to her high EI, she is able to recognise body language in conjunction with emotional state. For example, she can sense your vulnerability by the way you hunch your shoulders, or your nervousness by the way you place your hand behind your head. 

8. She thinks about feelings

She thinks about her own feelings and the feelings of others but not in a sappy, sad way. But in an attempt to understand the emotions she is experiencing and how she can overcome any negative emotions in a healthy manner. 

9. She pauses

Tying into keeping calm in tough situations, she is able to give pause before a reply. Remember, communication is irreversible and saying something in anger may cause more harm than good. 

10. She strives to control her thoughts

Being high in EI has great benefits; it can help to pull you out of the gutter whenever you feel low. Knowing that a situation is temporary and can always be fixed is what helps her in controlling her emotions to prevent self-destructive thoughts.

11. She shows authenticity

Everyone loves a down to earth person and individuals with high EI are easily relatable, are honest and true to their actions. 

12. She demonstrates empathy

She has the ability to understand what someone is experiencing in a particular situation and is able to offer sympathy and kind words.

13. She praises others

She understands the meaning of self-worth and appreciation. Therefore, wherever necessary, she gives kudos and lets you know when you have a brilliant idea or have done a great job.

14. She gives helpful feedback

She is never one to criticise others and tell them what they should or shouldn’t do. Instead she offers helpful advice and feedback where necessary taking into account the feelings of the other person. 

15. She apologises

A boss woman is never arrogant especially one with high EI. If she is wrong, she will admit it and its done in such a manner that you can’t help but admire her for it.
