Redesigning Changes In Life

The scent of the rain is soothing when it starts to pour initially and we tend to enjoy the rain at first! But what if it continues to rain for a whole day-long or for two consecutive days or for seven days in a row, would you still enjoy the rain? Nope. Right!? We tend to hate things when they turn out to become routine, that’s when all our problems begin to arise.

Initially the rainy morning seems just perfect to sit back and sip a cup of coffee, but as it prolonged with time, you become restricted to stay indoors, sometimes can’t travel to work, run out of groceries at home and starve out of hunger, and so on does each issue arise with just that one specific incident or event ruining peace across all areas of your life.

Ultimately, you just pray for the sun to shine beyond the dark clouds. You look forward to making changes in life when you start to suffer from your problems.

To redesign changes in one’s own life is a process of reflecting within oneself by a process to identify, ignite, empower and embrace the changes in life to make the best of the remaining time we have in life.

KEYS TO CHANGE:

1. Detection

When you know that you dropped your gold chain playing with kids at the park, and the only way to find it from the soil is by using a metal detector, you’ve hit the nail on the head. But do you know exactly which spot has to be traced? Knowing how to go about things is great, but knowing where to start from is a major concern. You detect possible problems from all areas of life, looking at your life from a bird’s eye-view, majorly from the areas of- Health, Family, Peers/Friends, Career/Profession and Personal. Among all the problems from these areas rank in order on the scale often the problem from the area which has the highest weight.

2. Zooming In

As a photographer, you identify your subject at first and then accordingly adjust your focus. Similarly, once you figure out that one particular area of life whose problem seems much bigger than problems of other areas, you put all your energy to solve that problem which would result in the change of your mindset, thus impacting positively to problems in all other areas of life! Define that problem realistically, write it down and be specific and clear about that issue.

3. Debit

List down at least two or three factors that form the primary cause of the problem you have figured out. Let’s say my problem from the area of health is my major concern, defining the issue to be ‘An ineffective exercising regime’. This could be because- hectic working hours, lacking guidance from a fitness instructor. Once you arrive at these causes, it’s time to bid them goodbye, until we don’t get over the negatives we would not be able to make room for the positives. So in my case, I’d reschedule my working hours and make time for my exercise and get a credible fitness instructor taking charge of my regime!

4. Credit

Planning the next action to be taken, of course! But when do we start? Right now! List the factors and implement the things to do that would help achieve the change needed, like for me, probably choosing two days of cardio, one day for strength and one day for flexibility is all I have to do to get to my fitness goal!

Well, that’s not all! Changes are recurring in nature, and so shall our strategy to redesign these changes be revised regularly. Another important thing to be done is, to express our gratitude towards the positives that we have inspite of our problems. Since we attract the energy equal to what we emit.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new”-
