Your vision and doing a great job go hand in hand. In order to perform your tasks, it is necessary to know your business. A great tip is to identify your ideal mentor, someone who has been in the business for a while and knows it from top to bottom. Don’t be scared, ask questions, and educate yourself on your role and how it adds value to the business. Work effectively and efficiently, giving yourself a deadline and using all avenues to get the job done in the easiest most accurate way possible. Outwork those around you and leadership will start to take notice.

ESTABLISH YOUR WORK ETHIC
This is where you make it a point to shine. Up until now, you have done your work effectively and efficiently. Step up your game and ask for more responsibilities or volunteer to help someone with a major task at hand. This shows initiative and a trust relationship is formed which paints you in a positive light. Ensure that the right people know about your results, these will ultimately become complementary skills to your strengths.

MAKE YOURSELF INDISPENSABLE
By now, your boss would’ve noticed how hard you’ve worked or picked it up from those you’ve helped along the way. Your key strengths are realized and utilized to the fullest. What would you want your boss to say when your name is brought up? I need her of course! Ensure that you an expert in your field, able to do more than what is expected of you and tasks that are not necessarily part of your job description. This shows you’re an all-rounder and puts you in a very valuable position to take your career to soaring heights.

TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF
And finally, after all that hard work, be sure to treat yourself. Whether it’s exercising, yoga, visiting the spa or the good old-fashioned retail therapy, taking time for oneself it a great immune booster and stress buster. Having done all this, there’s no reason why you cannot steadily climb the corporate ladder and apply for a higher position or ask for a promotion.
