“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” Paulo Coelho, the author of one of my favorite books, The Alchemist, wrote this quote. I fully believe in this quote, with my entire being. I believe that Coelho’s quote holds great truth. I believe that both destiny and the universe play a great role in where we end up.
However, I also believe that the human plays a great role in what we achieve as well. This does not go against the quote because humans, too, are a part of the universe. Humans move with the universe. We just can’t expect everything to be handed to us and not work for it. You have to work hard. You have to have a strong work ethic. You have to move along with the universe. You can’t just sit still and expect things to fall into your lap. Success won’t fall into your lap. You have to take it.
Time is important. You’ve heard people say that time is worth more than gold. And, it is. No matter what you do, you can’t get time back. That is why you can’t let it run away from you. You have to use the time that you have wisely. Although time is a manmade concept, it still moves along with us. There is a yesterday and there is a tomorrow. We can’t let time escape us. We have to dance along with the time at the perfect pace. We can’t move too fast and we can’t move too slow.
Here Are 5 Things That You Can Do In Order To Use Your Time More Wisely:
1. Pay attention to time.
Are you moving along with time? Or, are you standing still? Being complacent is not something that you should be. You should grow with time. You should move with it.
2. Learn how to say “No.”
You don’t have to go everywhere just because everyone is going. You don’t have to do something just because everyone else is doing it. Besides, following the crowd is boring. Be a leader. If you don’t want to go somewhere and if you have more important things to do, then all of the other things can wait. Get done what you have to do first. Use your time wisely.
3. Focus on your goals.
Think about what your goals are. Don’t only think short term. Be a long-term thinker. Live not only for the present but also for your future. The future is not certain, but it most likely will come. And, you shouldn’t walk into it blindly.
4. Set your priorities straight.
What is more important to you? Going out or finishing that project that you really wanted to get done by the end of the week? Spending time with the people you love or spending time with people who you don’t trust and who don’t really care about your well-being? Prioritize. Prioritize. Prioritize. I can’t stress that enough.
5. Surround yourself with people who care about their time, too.
The people who you surround yourself with DO have an effect on you. If the people who you surround yourself with don’t care about their time, if the people who you surround yourself with constantly waste their time, then they will most definitely waste your time as well. They don’t see the value in time. Be around people who do. Be around people who inspire you to use your time wisely.
